The recent gaming legislation that has been passed was part of a larger
bill focusing on completely non gaming-related legislation, but
including some online wagering restrictions. At this stage, we do not believe
that these online wagering restrictions will affect your ability to
transact at Sports Interaction.
This legislation has been designed to regulate payments to online
gambling accounts. Being licensed and regulated in Canada, Sports
Interaction is not an unlawful Internet gambling enterprise. The bill does not in
any way deem that placing a bet on the Internet is illegal, nor does it
seek to prevent customers from receiving their winnings. The bill is
designed to restrict certain methods of funding an illegal online gaming
account but again, we do not believe it will affect all funding
methods.
The regulations which the bill aims to impose have yet to be developed
and according to the act, must not be in place for another 270 days.
Therefore, the restrictions the bill will bring will not be clear for
some time. We believe that most of the numerous options for funding your
Sports Interaction account will be unaffected.
